Joanna A (Heim) Schell

Joanna A. Schell, 82, of Orwigsburg, passed away Tuesday, September 17th, at Pottsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Joanna was born in Orwigsburg, on April 21, 1942, a daughter of the late Laura J. (Morris) and Walter E. Heim. She was the wife of Ronald C. Schell, with whom she celebrated 62 years of marriage on June 23. 

    She was a lifetime member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.

Joanna attended Orwigsburg High School and worked at various factories throughout Orwigsburg and was also a cashier at Boyer’s Food Market in Orwigsburg for over 30 years before retiring in 2014. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching the Hallmark channel, going to the shore and spending time with her family.

        In addition to her husband, Ron, Joanna is survived by her two daughters, Maria, wife of Scott Werner of Auburn and Lisa, wife of Robert Hinchey of St. Clair; grandchildren Laura Kramer, wife of Shawn, Orwigsburg; Kevin Werner of Auburn and Elizabeth Schell and her companion Tyler Scheib and his daughter Emma of Sacramento, PA; a sister, Sally Orlosky, wife of Steve, Orwigsburg ; as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. 

       She is predeceased by her brothers Victor, Sylvester and Walter A. Heim.

        A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 25th at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Schuylkill Haven, with Rev. Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik officiating. Visitation will be from 9:15 to 10:15 AM in the church’s chapel. Interment to follow at St. Ambrose Cemetery and Mausoleum Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Ambrose Parish Memorial Fund, 201 Randel Street, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
