John Thomas (Jack) Carroll, Sr., 80, of Auburn, passed away Saturday, August 21st, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Jack was born in Philadelphia on August 26, 1940, a son of the late Mildred Louise (King) and Wesley F. Carroll. He was the husband of Carolyn Jane (Lanzetta) Carroll. They married May 25th, 1963. He served in the National Guard Army Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1968. He was a 1962 graduate of The University of Pennsylvania. He was Vice President of sales for Mirawall / Eternit, Inc. in Port Carbon and Reading from 1977 - 1989. He retired in 2009 as a sales manager with ConnectTEK in Shartlesville.
A lifelong Eagles and Phillies fan, Jack coached little league baseball in the Magnolia, NJ and Cressona, PA programs and enjoyed woodworking, golf and seeing the Eagles finally win a Super Bowl.
In addition to his wife Jane, of 58 Years, Jack is survived by his son, John "JC" T. Carroll, Jr., husband of Malinda Mae (Aston) Carroll and granddaughter-in-law Alasha Rae (Lightcap) Carroll. Jack was predeceased by his grandson Sean M. Carroll November 30, 2019.
A Celebration of Jack's life will take place at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, Sunday August 29th at 3:00 PM
Memorial gathering will begin at 1:00 in the funeral home. His ashes will be sent to sea to be with his grandson in a private ceremony.
