John (Jack) Allison Menges

John (Jack) Allison Menges, 63, of Auburn, passed away peacefully, Thursday June 23rd, at his residence. He was a son of Sally (Gardner) Menges and the late William Menges.

An avid woodworker, craftsman, and sailor, he had a proclivity for improving the environment around him. He grew large gardens, built boats, restored antique cars, and made just the sort of Christmas gifts one would surely use for years to come. If it was worth doing, it was worth doing right.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Fillmore Menges; a sister Peggy Piper, wife of Loren Piper; a brother, William Menges; a daughter, Emma Fillmore Menges, wife of Grahm Lyon; and two sons, Samuel Gardner Menges and William Alexander Menges, husband of Katie Wolf.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
