Joseph “Joe” T. Martin, 76, of Orwigsburg, passed away Friday, October 12th, at his residence, with his family by his side. Joe was born in Charleston, WV, on October 8, 1942, a son of the late Edith Laura (Skeens) and Warren Erskin Martin. He was the husband of Susan A. (Snyder) Martin. They were married on February 14, 1980. He was raised in the Baptist faith, and served in the U.S. Navy. Joe attended the University of Charleston and received his Masters from Virginia Tech. He worked as an accountant until he retired from Sapa in Cressona, PA, in 2013. Joseph was a golf enthusiast in his early years, an avid reader, and he enjoyed cooking and photography until his health declined. In addition to his wife Susan, Joseph is survived by two sons: Nicholas, husband of Caroline Edgeton-Martin, of Philadelphia; Patrick Martin, husband of Kayla, of Bethlehem, and their son Finnegan Joseph Martin. Also surviving are his two sisters, Margaret, wife of Edward Cavender, of Charleston, WV; and Anne, widow of Jerry Lewis, of Nellis, WV. A Celebration of Life Service for Joseph will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 19th, at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., in Orwigsburg, with Rev. Jeffrey C. Stonesifer officiating. There will be a Memorial Gathering from noon until time of service. Interment will be private.
