Kenneth Behler Obituary

Kenneth A.  Behler, 95, of Deer Lake, died, Saturday, May 29th, at his residence.

Kenneth was born in Hamburg, PA on June 29, 1925, a son of the late Olive P. (Koch) and Elmer H.  Behler.

He was the widower of Loretta M. (Erspamer) Behler, his wife of 73 years.

He graduated from Hamburg High School Class 1943 and served in the US Navy during WWII.

He founded, owned, and operated Behler Patterns Inc., of Deer Lake, from 1950 to 2008. He began his patternmaking career at Emhart Pattern Shop in Hamburg.

He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church Schuylkill Haven.

He was active in the community serving on the Deer Lake Borough Council, for 31 years, several as President. He was also a past President of the Blue Mountain Recreation Commission and the National Association of Patternmakers.He was a member of the Southern Schuylkill Council of Government,the Schuylkill County Manufacturers Association and the Deer Lake and West Brunswick Fire Company.

Kenneth is survived by a son, ThomasE. Behler, husband of Aida, of Deer Lake.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife & parents, he was preceded in death by his sons Donald E. Behler, Kerry A. Behler, and his brother Daniel L. Behler.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 4th at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, PA. The visitation,with family and friends,  will be from 9:00 until Service.  Entombment in the St. Ambrose Mausoleum, Schuylkill Haven will follow.
