Maria E. Wolfe

Maria E. Wolfe, 70, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on  Monday, December 15th, at Geisinger St. Luke's Orwigsburg, 

Maria was born in Pottsville, on October 25, 1955, a daughter of the late Catherine T. (Crevin) and Milton D. Wolfe.

Maria graduated in 1973 from Nativity BVM High School, Pottsville, PA,  and in 1977 from  College Misericordia, Dallas, PA,  where she served as class President.  Prior to retiring, she worked as an in-home support coordinator at Access Services and also worked from 1977-2009 at Deluxe Check Corporation. 

She was  very active as a lector at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church and also was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Harrisburg where she was active as a CCD teacher prior to moving back to Schuylkill Haven. Maria very much enjoyed her trips to Fatima, Lourdes and Medjugorje, where she traveled with her loving family She loved visiting the beach and was an avid Notre Dame fan. She participated in the Ladies Golf League in Harrisburg. She was a member of the Schuylkill Haven American Legion Auxiliary Unit 38, North Ward Social Club and was a social member at Landingville Fire Company. She was involved with animal rescues while living in Harrisburg. 

Maria is  survived by her sister, Kristina A. Miller and her brother, David, husband of  Gail Wolfe as well as her niece Erin K. Shortes, wife of Brian. Great nephew Jacob and  great niece Emma and cousins.

A mass of Christian burial will be held  Saturday, December 27th at 10:30 AM at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 201 Randel Street,  Schuylkill Haven.  Visitation will be from 9:15 to 10:15 in the church chapel.  Interment will be private.
