Marlin (Mudge) W. Berger, Jr., 82, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday, April
30th, at his residence.
Mudge was born in Pottsville, on September 25, 1939, a son of the late Jennie (Murrey)
and Marlin Warren Berger, Sr.
He was the husband of Elaine Diane (Berk) Berger. They were married on May 20,
1961. He was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, class of 1957 and a member
of First United Methodist Church Schuylkill Haven.
Mudge served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was stationed in Karamursel, Turkey during his military time.
During his life he was employed as a Truck Driver for Arrow Carrier Corporation and
also served as Assistant manager for the Schuylkill Haven Borough for over 11 years.
Mudge was a member of Lodge F & AM, #138 for 58 years. He served on the
Schuylkill Haven Borough Council for over 40 years and was the commissioner and
official of the Schuylkill Haven Midget football program for 30 years. He has been a
valued employee of the Hamilton-Breiner Funeral home for over 16 years. He was an
avid golfer playing numerous times a week until his health declined.
In addition to his wife Elaine, of 65 years, Mudge is survived by
his daughter, Bonnie Ulsh, wife of Galen, of Schuylkill Haven, PA.
And his son, Brent Berger, husband of Kathy, of Dallas; PA.
Mudge is also survived by his grandchildren Zachary, Abigail and Emma Berger and
Kaitlyn Faust, as well as nieces and nephews.

An evening visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday May 11th, at HamiltonBreiner Funeral Home, Inc., Orwigsburg. A Religious Service will be held on Thursday
May 12th at 11:00 AM, at First United Methodist Church, Schuylkill Haven with Rev Dr.
Christopher Fisher officiating. Guests may also visit in the church from 9:30 until the
Masonic Service begins at 10:45 AM on Thursday.
