Nancy Jean Yorski Obituary

Nancy Jean Yorski, 78, of Orwigsburg, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 3, surrounded by her loving family.


Born May 27, 1947, in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Marhon) and Stephen Yorski.


Nancy “Jean” dedicated her life to her Christian faith and her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who brought warmth and laughter to our lives.  She enjoyed cooking and gardening with her grandchildren, which created memories that will be treasured for generations. She was truly the heart of the family, which loved and adored her.


Prior to her retirement, Nancy worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic, where she cared for her patients with compassion and dedication for many years. 


She survived by her three children: her daughter, Stephanie, the wife of Joseph Sheerin; her son, Matthew Yorski; and her son, Christopher Yorski, the husband of Billi-Jo. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Adam Sherrin and Madison Yorski; her three sisters, Judy Moran, Anna Marie Banks, and Mary Ann Witman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.


In addition to her parents, Nancy “Jean” was preceded in death by her brothers John, Michael, Nicholas, and Stephen, and her sister Martha.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nancy “Jean’s” memory in the form of a Mass at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 319 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville, PA 17901, or St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 201 Randel Street, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.


Services were held privately and entrusted to Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Orwigsburg, PA.
