Ronald L. Artz, 86, of Pottsville, passed away Monday, May 15th, at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Pottsville.
Ronald was born in Pottsville on November 26, 1936, a son of the late Hannah C. (Toomey) and Harry A. Artz.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, where he was President of the church council and also served on many church committees. Ronald was also a member of the Yorkville Hose Company. He was a graduate of Pottsville High School, class of 1954. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War, after which he received his Bachelors degree from Penn State University. He worked at Ost & Ost, Inc. prior to retiring.
Ronald is survived by a brother, Robert Artz, husband of Carol and Sister Doris Stanton, widow of Bill as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Alveretta Artz; Dorothy Emmons; Mildred Artz and brothers, William, Edward, Harry Jr., Harold and Ralph Artz.
A Religious Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 West Arch Street, Pottsville, with Pastor Chris Rothharpt officiating on Friday, May 26 at 10:30 AM. Guests are invited to call from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville on Tuesday May 30th, 11:00 AM.
