Russell E. Reber, 91, of Orwigsburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 29th, at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.
Russ, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Pottsville, on January 17, 1928, a son of the late Verda Mae (Reichert) and Elmer Reber.
Russ was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven and he served in the U.S. Army in WW II.
He worked 25 years as a Manufacturing Supervisor for Reneer Films, presently Omnova, retiring in 1990.
Russ loved family and friends. He enjoyed golf and winters in Florida. He especially loved his wife, Dorothy (Freeman), who passed away November 2014, and whom he missed every day since.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Reynold, Robert, Darvin and Clair Reber.
Russ is survived by his son, Russell E. Reber, Jr., husband of Caroline of Fleetwood; two grandsons, Christopher Reber of Wyomissing and Thomas Reber of Fleetwood; and a sister, Betty Keenan, Pottsville.
A Religious Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 9th at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, with Rev. David Rowe officiating. Friends may gather from 10:00 AM until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 252 Dock Street, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
