Sandra "Sandy" M. (Jablonski) Skobel

Sandra "Sandy" Skobel, 78, of Orwigsburg, passed away Tuesday, October 7th, at her home with her family by her side.
Sandy was born in Shenandoah on October 4, 1947, daughter of the late Lottie (Marchefsky) Jablonski and Frank Jablonski.
She was the loving wife of Robert "Bob" M. Skobel. They were married on October 4th, 1969.
Sandy graduated from Shenandoah Catholic High School class of 1965. She received her nursing degree from Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing, following in the footsteps of her mother and aunt, who graduated from the same nursing school. She dedicated her life to taking care of others, as a Registered Nurse & also as a friend, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
Sandy was an avid reader and shared this passion with her daughter. Together they founded a book club that has gathered for over a decade, sharing more than 100 books with a remarkable group of women. She was a loyal Yankees baseball fan and rarely missed a Penn State football game. She loved family vacations and traveling. She especially cherished her 50th Anniversary trip with Bob to Paris, France. She loved theatre and music, attending countless concerts and Broadway shows. 
Sandy was a proud Grandma, who treasured spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to entertain and cook for her family and friends. Celebrations and holidays were always special; her recipes and thoughtful meals were a true expression of her love.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Bob Skobel, her daughter, Michelle, wife of Adam Taylor and her son, Brian Skobel, husband of Lenore; grandchildren Noah Taylor, Briel Skobel and Emaline Skobel.
She was predeceased by her brother Frank Jablonski, Jr.
A religious service to celebrate Sandy's life will be held on Tuesday evening, October 14th at 6:00 PM, with Rev. Thomas Osei Gyua officiating at the Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home, Inc., 116 S. Liberty St. Orwigsurg. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM until time of service. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orwigsburg Area Free Public Library, 216 West Independence Street Orwigsburg, PA 17961.
