Walter MacCorkle, II, 78, of Orwigsburg, passed away Saturday, February 12th, at his residence, with his family by his side.
Walter was born in Philadelphia, on July 27, 1943, a son of the late Martha (Hesser) and Charles MacCorkle. After losing his father, at a young age, Walter became very close to his step Father Andrew Juramias.
Walter was the widower of Marie Helene (Beinhauer) MacCorkle. She passed away October 7th, 2021.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and thru desert Storm. He stayed in the Army Reserves for many years in the 365Th. Walter was employed at Craftex Mills in Philadelphia. He then relocated to Orwigsburg and moved on to become Plant manager and President of Production in the Auburn Mill.
Walter is survived by two daughters, Renea MacCorkle, companion of Tom Fidler Pottsville, PA; Colleen Golden, of Manyunk, PA; a son, Walter MacCorkle, III, of Orwigsburg, PA; with whom he resided.
Walter is also survived by his sister, Barbara Vogt, wife of Daniel; Sister in Law Debra Juramias.
He is also survived by his four grandchildren Marrissa LaScala, wife of Christopher; Samantha Kalyan, companion of Dan Walter and their baby due in July 2022; Andrew MacCorkle, companion of Brook Knepper; Chase Golden. His great grandchildren are Landon & Lucy LaScala. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and his caregivers over the past year who have become family.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Charles MacCorkle, Andrew & Wayne Juramias.
A Religious Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 22nd at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg with Rev. Michael Petrusky officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, PA.
